Tara grew up on a mountain in beautiful, rural, western Maryland. With a gentle nudge from her theatre-loving mother and cowboy dad, she began dance classes at the age of four, then voice lessons at age 11, and has never looked back. She earned her BFA from NYU Tisch where she trained both at the Atlantic Acting School and The New Studio on Broadway for Musical Theatre.
 
She currently lives in The Hudson valley with her Chinchilla named Fonzie, Her cat named Oz, and her husband, Trevor (in no particular order of who she adores most). When tara isn't performing, choreographing or writing, she can be found practicing yoga, reading, listening to podcasts, or playing board games.
